Mermazing – Online Class

** Note: The LIVE portion has already taken place. Class resources are available. A replay of the class videos, group participation, coloring guides, and handouts **

Join Jenn Shurkus for an online class, hosted in a private Facebook group!

Mermazing is an opportunity to create 3 unique reveal wheel interactive cards from start to finish with Jenn! Jenn will have dedicated time to go over Copic coloring of all the images and Distress Ink techniques, as well as tips and tricks when putting together reveal wheel interactive cards. Then there will be dedicated time to assembling the 3 cards. As in Jenn’s in-person classes, this is when she will share tips, tricks, and processes with you.

All of the class videos are available to watch in the private Facebook group.

Also included in the class is a downloadable class handout that will include:

  • card kit prep information
  • images of all the cards, including detailed shots
  • supplies listed per card as well as assembly information
  • Copic coloring guides (If you do not have Copic markers you can choose to color with a different medium and you will still find the coloring guides helpful)
  • 2 bonus card designs

Some feedback from previous class attendees:

“Great value!! Even just for the handout with all the card ideas it would have been a great value! The live videos was just the icing on the cake.”

“Jenn is a great instructor full of energy, creativity and inspiration. She will help you to get your own creative juices flowing. Being able to attend class from anywhere was an added bonus.”

“A good value? It is a wicked great value! A whole day of fun and learning tips for only $18? That’s a bargain! We won’t go into what I spent on stamps but those I will use forever. 😉”

Order class supplies

Kits will not be shipped for this class, so there are some supplies you should have on hand. Jenn will also provide images of what should be stamped and die-cut before class. If you are looking to purchase ANY of these supplies it is encouraged to support a store that Jenn has taught at so they will still be around for in-person classes in the future. You can find this list of stores and links to their shops and online shops here.

All important announcements and the replays of the videos will be kept in the “Announcements” section of the Facebook group, so they will be easy to find.

FAQ

Q: What if I want to take the class with a friend, should we both register?
A: As many of us are starting to get together with friends again, to hang out and hopefully create together. I wanted to remind you that the policy for my online classes is that everyone who is taking the class should register for the class. It is not fair for a group of friends to get together under one registration. The class fee is very affordable and a lot of hours go into designing and hosting the classes, I hope you will understand and support me.

Q: How long will you have access to the class
A: Indefinitely (as long as Facebook is around)

Q: I don’t have Facebook. How can I join the class?
A: Because we are using Facebook’s platform to host the class, you must have a Facebook account to join.

Q: I plan on taking the class with a friend, do we both need to sign up?
A: Just as if you were to take the class in-person, everyone that plans to attend the class, should sign up and pay for the class.

Q: I don’t have all the supplies listed.
A: You can always substitute for similar items, or leave something out. Email Jenn if you have questions

Q: Your class is at 11 am Eastern time, but I live in England. What time will your class air?
A: Go to World Clock and personalize the clocks at the top with New York time and your local time.

Q: I took one online live class. Will your next class go to the same group?
A: No, each class will have its own unique Facebook group. You must sign up for each class separately.

Q: Where do I find the video?
A: On the day of class, pull the group up on your phone, tablet, or computer. When class starts, you will see a post that Jenn is going Live in the group. Click on that to watch. After class is over, you can watch the video by clicking on the “Video” section of the group.

Q: What payment options do you offer?
A: All major credit cards and PayPal

Q: Can I have a refund for the class
A: Unfortunately, since you have already gained access to the class resource page, and were provided the website and password there are no refunds.

Q: I have technical problems!
A: Email Jenn and she will do her best to help. However, if she is in the middle of the LIVE she obviously will not be able to get back to you until after. Note that the classes will work well on your computer with a high-speed internet connection. They are not guaranteed to work on tablets, but we have tested them on our iPad and they worked well.

Q: In what language are the classes?
A: The classes are in English. There is no written transcript of the videos.

Q: When will the class handout be available?
A: All handouts are posted on the password-protected class resource page and available now

Don’t let being busy the day of class stop you from signing up for Jenns classes. This is my 4 th class and I usually watch the replays afterwards instead of watching live due to my hectic schedule :). Love love love these classes. The color handouts that Jenn provides is worth the price of class alone best classes always for content , price and fun. !

This was my third class with Jenn. I love all her tips and tricks. As a seasoned crafter I am still learning new things. She takes the stress out of using interactive dies while creating stunning cards. While, taking her class, I am already planning the next one to register for. Her preparation and handouts are second to none. I’d encourage anyone to sign up for one if not all her classes. You can’t beat the value for your money. Officially jennabled!!

Jenn is an amazing teacher. This class was my first one and since taking this class , I’ve purchased 4 more classes so far. Jenn makes a wonderful handout to use as a reference guide, She shares her knowledge of copics and so much more with her class and makes it make sense , she puts so much time and energy into making her classes. I am definitely a Jenn fan and will continue to take her classes and learn from her. Great job!!!

  13. Monique Felix (verified owner)

Since I live on the other side of the world (the Netherlands) I would never have been able to attend one of Jenn’s classes that she normally gives in craft stores. So I’m over the moon she decided to start with her online classes! They are SO good! She is a wonderful teacher, a great and bubbly personality that makes the class so much fun!
The classes are very easy to follow, even if English is not your native language. The handout and colouring guide are a great help. And if the time difference is a problem, you can always do the class at another time (instead of live).
I promised myself ALL of her classes, since I’m not going on vacation this year (besides, they are really affordable)! So keep them coming, Jenn!!

  14. Fran Holt (verified owner)

Fabulous class, Jenn. Lots of versatility and ideas for other card projects as well as the beautiful cards we made in this class. You are one talented lady and a thorough and patient teacher. Can’t wait for my next class.

  15. Valerie Peterson (verified owner)

Jenn’s classes are always fun, inexpensive, and you learn a lot about various aspects of cardmaking. But this one was the best I’ve taken so far — in addition to Copic coloring, you get some hands-on practice with ink blending and watercoloring techniques as well. But be forewarned…you may be Jennabled!

  16. Lora Wright (verified owner)

Love Love Jenn’s classes!! She is so talented ! I absolutely love the way she teaches. I took Copic Classes years ago but Jenn has taught me so much more!!! And doing the online classes is awesome, because you can go back and watch it over and over again!

If you are thinking of taking this class – do it! In this class you’ll learn how to do distress ink backgrounds and Copic coloring. Jenn makes it easy and doable for any level of crafter. It’s so much fun! I can’t stop looking at the cards we made in class!

  18. Dena Allbee (verified owner)

If you have never taken one of Jenn’s classes, do it. I have taken several, loved each of them. In this class she showed some really cool coloring techniques. Highly recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Jenn is a phenomenal instructor and I have to say the coloring guides were really helpful especially when I made mermazing cards on my own. I was so enthusiastic about the card making that I bought the dies that matched the stamp set. I’ve been Jennabled.😀

  21. Lori Wolfe (verified owner)

I always love Jenn’s classes, but Mermazing has to be my favorite so far! I knew how to make a reveal wheel before, but now it seems less of a chore and more fun. I took Jenn’s Distress Ink technique class, so I was so excited to work with inks again. We made beautiful backgrounds. Last, but definitely not least, can we talk about the ocean scenes? These were my favorite. I loved taking the inky backgrounds and turning them into beautiful underwater worlds! On top of all I learned in class, Jenn created two beautiful bonus cards for us to complete on our own. The mermaid with the umbrella has to be the cutest card I’ve ever seen!
Thanks, Jenn, for my favorite class this year!

  22. Eric L Bowman (verified owner)

I love Jenn’s classes! I learn so much and the things I learn in her classes I use in my other card making projects. I was totally new to Copic coloring when I took my first class with her. Now, I can color so much better than when I started last year. I really like how my cards came out in the Mermazing class and am looking forward to her next class.

  23. Julie Menches (verified owner)

I LOVED this class! Jenn is the best teacher. I have learned so much about copic coloring, paper and different techniques in making backgrounds. Each class is full of fun learning and my projects come out like I have known how to do everything she teaches for years. This is how all of her classes are. I recommend signing up for them if you can. You won’t be disappointed 🙂

  24. Barbara Martin (verified owner)

This class was amazing! Learning from Jenn is wonderful, anyway, but in this format, you can’t lose! You get to follow along as she’s teaching (if you are able to attend at the time), but you can rewatch if you missed anything, or to make more cards! Jenn is a wonderful teacher and the participants keep the group laughing. I learned so much!!

  25. ROBIN E BERNIER (verified owner)

This class was awesome!!!! I learned so many great techniques. Jenn is a wonderful teacher. I am already counting down the days until her next class.

  26. Annette James (verified owner)

This class was so much fun. We learned so many techniques and I did not feel overwhelmed at all. Jenn’s teaching style is amazing, she is so patient and explains everything so clearly. When we make mistakes she offers way to correct or hide them so we can still use our creations. We used an interactive die in this class that I hadn’t used before and Jenn made it so easy. I can’t wait to create more card using everything I learned in class.

  27. Traci Tanimura-Garcia (verified owner)

This class was so much fun! This was my first time attending a class by Jenn and I have to say that it was fantastic! The pace was perfect. Jenn gave really descriptive descriptions of what she was doing and showed us on her up close camera. She’s an awesome instructor! Very patience and made sure everyone was keeping up. She answered questions along the way and also gave “insider” tips and tricks. I can’t wait for her next class (Happy Hugs)!

  28. Bonnie Chesbrough (verified owner)

Another amazing class with Jenn. This class is packed with so much good stuff from distress inks, copic coloring, and designing the cards. Never disappointed with Jenn’s classes.

  29. Deana Hayes (verified owner)

Totally enjoyed this class with Jenn. She made everything fun and easy. Pre-class prep was explained and made the class go smoothly. Jenn is very patient and explains things as we go so all is understood. Will for sure take another class with her as I enjoyed every minute ❣️

  30. Debbie Bonczek (verified owner)

Took this class today and learned so much. I created my cards, but the beauty of these classes is that I will be revisiting and creating some additional ones as well. Jenn packs so much into the class with multiple ways to use products, tips, techniques! This was truly Mermazing! I can’t wait to create more versions and different spins!

  31. Mary Matthys (verified owner)

This class was so fun. Jenn has a great way of teaching and is so patient. I am new to Copic coloring and have never felt comfortable with any type of shading, whether it is markers, water color, colored pencils, etc. My copic coloring on this class looks so nice! I have taken a few other classes from Jenn and learn so many skills in each one.
